Tips to

Reconnect with Nature

It’s not always easy remembering to be mindful of nature. But remedying the disconnect doesn't have to be hard either. We think it’s often the smallest things that can make the biggest difference. So here’s a list of simple, easy ways to get back in touch with the world outside.

Sometimes tiny actions are the most relaxing. Kick off your shoes and lounge in the grass. Read a book or take a nap. Feel the blades of grass between your toes and take in the fresh smell. Relax, observe, and immerse.

Tip 2

Instead of running for cover the next time it’s raining, why not try standing outside? Feel the rain on your face, listen to the pitter patter of the raindrops, and watch your surroundings glisten.

Tip 3

Adopt plant babies

Whenever you’re outside, try to look up and take notice. What shapes, patterns and movements can you find in the clouds? Observe the different textures and see if maybe you can find a cat or kiwi in the sky.

Tip 5

Make some ripples

There’s nothing quite like the calm, glassy beauty of a body of water. Try skipping a stone or few and watch as serene ripples, circles and waves form and dissipate back into stillness.

Tip 6

And you!

Finally, remember that you are also part of nature. Notice the natural rhythms in your footsteps, heartbeat, and each inhale and exhale of breath. Concentrate on the sounds you make as you move through the day and let the chatter and clatter of your mind melt away.
